They disgorge\nportions of their partially digested food at intervals and drop faeces. They\nalso discharge a nauseous secretion both from their mouths and from glands\nopening on the body which give a long-lasting, offensive cockroach smell to\nareas or food visited by them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most\nimportant reason of the nuisance is their ability to spread diseases<\/strong>. They are responsible for potentially causing food\npoisoning in humans. They are also responsible for transmission of diseases\nlike cholera, diarrhoea, staphylococcus, streptococcus, hepatitis, typhoid and\ndysentery. They can also be a risk for people with allergies and asthma when\nthey make their homes indoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim Bissonnette says cockroaches have been infesting his 8 Talwood Drive for\nyears, but the problem has gotten worse in recent weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t have our cupboard doors closed, we can\u2019t turn off our kitchen\nlights, we can\u2019t turn off our bathroom lights because that\u2019s when the\ncockroaches will come out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe give care packages to every new tenant that comes\ninto the building of Diatomaceus earth because they are not told about this\nproblem,\u201d said Bissonnette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the cockroach has an egg sack, Bissonnete says it could produce another 30 cockroaches if not\ntreated properly.<\/strong> Bissonnette says he finds them in\nthe bathroom, kitchen, the elevator and just about everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bob\nEvans in southwest Fort Wayne closed Thursday after health inspectors found\ndozens of cockroaches in the restaurant, including among food being prepared on\nthe kitchen line, according to the inspection report.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s\nthe second restaurant on the city’s southwest side to close this week because\nof roaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nFort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health received a complaint Wednesday\ndirecting inspectors to check under the cooking area of the Village of Coventry\nrestaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCockroaches\n\u2013 treating it themselves,\u201d the complaint said. \u201cDon’t want public to know but\nthey can’t get rid of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nrestaurant declined to comment when reached by phone Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along\nwith a can of roach spray on the ice machine, inspectors found \u201charborage\nconditions\u201d and cockroaches running across the kitchen floor; among clean\nplates; and among food being prepared, the report states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traps contained more than 40 live cockroaches, inspectors reported<\/strong>, noting dead\ncockroaches were also in the restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
