Chances are, you or someone you know has had a run-in with\u00a0bed bugs. It might have happened in a thoroughly clean bedroom. Or maybe it was a hotel room, office or college dorm.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bedbugs are small, oval,\nbrownish insects that live on the blood of animals or humans. Adult bedbugs have\nflat bodies about the size of an apple seed. After feeding, however, their\nbodies swell and are reddish in color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bedbugs do not fly, but they\ncan move quickly over floors, walls, and ceilings. Female bedbugs may lay\nhundreds of eggs, each of which is about the size of a speck of dust, over a\nlifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bedbug infestation can be\nspotted anywhere, homes, apartments, hotels, hospitals, schools and college\ncampuses, office buildings, retail stores, movie theaters, and even public\ntransportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LITTLE\nROCK, Ar. (KARK) \u2013 Between family visits and getaways this holiday season, many\nmay not be aware of the common unwanted travel companion of bed bugs. They\u2019re\nknown for being hitchhikers and can travel on people and their belongings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019re\nabout the size of an apple seed, kind of dark brownish in color,\u201d Hal Johnson,\nTermnix Branch Manager, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pest\nmanagement company Terminix recently released the Top 50 Bed Bug invested\ncities for 2019. Philadelphia, New York, Dallas-Fort Worth, Indianapolis and\nCincinnati top the list. Memphis came in at number 17. Little Rock was number\n23 and Fort Smith was 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terminix\nhas this advice for those traveling to hotels over the holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
